My impact at ASI, inspired me to seek an opportunity to support the development of a new Culture and Identity Center at CSUDH. I worked with the Program Director of the LCRC to co-create an inaugural internship to support their social media and marketing efforts. As the inaugural intern, I manage the organization’s social media platforms while assisting the Program Director in ensuring that the marketing and social media of the LCRC is culturally affirming, representative of our diverse student population, and preventative work to eradicate discrimination and prejudice in social media spaces.

¡Tu Casita at Dominguez Hills! Project

In my short time with the LCRC, there are many projects that I have developed that I am proud of and have resulted in a positive impact.

This project ¡Tu Casita at Dominguez Hills!

(Your home at Dominguez Hills!) is a strategy to rebrand the LCRC's image and presence on social media and across campus. I created this strategy to rebrand the organization’s name and presence at CSUDH to create a more inclusive space as our students shared that the LCRC often reminds them of a home. With this in mind, we created a new name for the LCRC, “La Casita: Latinx Cultural Resource Center".

The goal of this strategy is to promote the LCRC as a whole by creating a sense of community among students and the CSUDH community.

A few months after the rebrand, I developed and designed La Casita: Latinx Cultural Resource Center branded "papel picado" (perforated paper), the first of it's kind to be created within La Casita and the CSUDH community. The branded papel picado was made by artists in Oaxaca, Mexico and was introduced to the CSUDH community in Spring 2023 alongside the remodeling of La Casita!
